Ingredients

  • 8 oz 225g white chocolate, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp orange extract or 1–2 tsp orange liqueur, optional
  • 1 tbsp orange zest from 1 medium orange
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional coating: powdered sugar shredded coconut, or white chocolate for dipping

Instructions

Make the Truffle Base:

  • In a small saucepan, heat the cream and butter over low heat until just simmering (do not boil).
  • Pour over chopped white chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 2–3 minutes to melt.
  • Stir until smooth. Add orange zest, orange extract, and salt. Mix well.

Chill the Mixture:

  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.

Shape the Truffles:

  • Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to portion the mixture into 1-inch balls.
  • Roll quickly between your palms to smooth.
  • Optional: roll truffles in powdered sugar, coconut, or dip in melted white chocolate.

Chill Again (if needed):

  • Place truffles on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • 🧊 Storage: Keep truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • 🎁 Gifting Tip: Place each truffle in a mini cupcake liner and store in a festive tin or box.
  • 🍊 Flavor Boost: Add a bit more zest or a splash of orange liqueur (like Grand Marnier) for stronger citrus notes.
  • 🍫 Chocolate Option: Try coating them in dark chocolate for a tangy-sweet contrast.
