Ingredients

For the Cake Layer:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix or homemade chocolate cake
  • Ingredients required for the cake mix eggs, oil, water

For the Pudding Layer:

  • 1 3.9-ounce box chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk

For the Whipped Layer:

  • 2 cups whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Decorations & Toppings:

  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • ½ cup Halloween sprinkles
  • ½ cup candy corn
  • ½ cup gummy worms
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions

✔ Bake the Cake

  • Prepare the chocolate cake according to the package instructions. Let it cool completely, then cut into bite-sized cubes.

✔ Make the Pudding

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes. Let it set for 5 minutes.

✔ Prepare the Whipped Layer

  • If using homemade whipped cream, beat heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

✔ Assemble the Trifle

  • In a large trifle dish or individual cups, start with a layer of chocolate cake cubes.
  • Spread a layer of chocolate pudding over the cake.
  • Add a layer of whipped cream.
  • Sprinkle some crushed Oreos and Halloween sprinkles.
  • Repeat the layers until the dish is filled.

✔ Decorate & Serve

  • Top with gummy worms, candy corn, and chocolate chips. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. Enjoy your spooky treat! 🎃👻

Notes

  • Substitute vanilla pudding for a color contrast.
  • Use green or orange-tinted whipped cream for extra Halloween flair.
